Before the time of his eternal sleep, Samuel testified before the Lord and his anointed one, “No property, not even a pair of sandals, have I taken from anyone! And not one person accused him.
And called upon the name of the Lord Almighty, in fighting against the enemies who beset him on every side, when he offered a lamb without blemish.
When Samuel was about to die, he gave assurances before the Lord and the anointed king that he had never taken anyone's property, not even so much as a pair of shoes, and no one contradicted him.
When Samuel neared the end of life, he testified before the Lord and his anointed prince, “No bribe or secret gift have I taken from anyone!” and no one could accuse him.
When the time drew near for his eternal sleep, Samuel bore witness to the Lord and his anointed: “I have never taken from anyone any property, not even a pair of shoes.” And no one could contradict his statement.
Before the time of his eternal sleep, Samuel bore witness before the Lord and his anointed: ‘No property, not so much as a pair of shoes, have I taken from anyone!’ And no one accused him.
